PALO ALTO, CALIF.—Christian Mammen, D.Phil., has joined Womble Bond Dickinson’s Silicon Valley office, and the news is generating headlines the national and California legal media.

Dr. Mammen tells The Recorder that Womble Bond Dickinson has been “on an incredible growth trajectory over the past year and a half or so, focused heavy on IP. I am really excited to be joining that platform.” He noted the firm’s recent additions of IP partners Brent Babcock in Orange County and Jeff Whittle in Houston.

He also was interviewed by the Daily Journal and spoke about his work with the AI industry as well as with the UC Berkeley Center for Law and Technology.”

“Combining that with the strong platform of Womble is really going to be an exciting combination,” he said.

Chris Mammen, D. Phil. , has been litigating patents and technology cases since the start of the first dot.com boom in the late 1990s. He has led both large and small litigation teams and has substantial first-chair experience, including arguing Markman hearings, arguing summary judgment hearings, taking and defending key technical and patent law expert depositions, and arguing before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
