WASHINGTON, D.C. - Womble Bond Dickinson attorney Carri Bennet, the General Counsel of the Rural Wireless Association (RWA) joined other telecom industry leaders for the White House 5G Summit on Sept. 28.
The 5G Summit offered news and insights into the next generation of broadband, as well as updates on current broadband deployment. Speakers at the event included FCC Chair Ajit Pai, David Redl, head of the National Telecommunications & Information Administration and Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.), the Chair of the Senate Commerce Committee.
Bennet represented the RWA at the event, helping ensure that the needs of rural broadband carriers and customers are represented in the development and implementation of 5G. She participated in the 5G Deployment Break-Out Session to discuss deployment of rural broadband.
Headquartered in Washington, D.C., RWA - the Rural Wireless Association is a trade association representing rural wireless carriers who each serve fewer than 100,000 subscribers. RWA’s members have joined together to spread the delivery of new, efficient and innovative wireless technologies to remote and underserved communities.

Carri Bennet has more than three decades of experience representing wireline, wireless and broadband communications providers, as well as commercial and noncommercial broadcasters, in regulatory compliance matters. She has a particular focus on advocating for small rural carriers, including serving as General Counsel to the Rural Wireless Association. Bennet represents telecom industry clients before the FCC, state regulatory agencies, the courts, and Congress.
