ATLANTA—Womble Bond Dickinson attorney Bill Ragland has been named to Intellectual Asset Management magazine’s IAM Strategy 300: The World’s Leading IP Strategists for 2020. This is the ninth time that Ragland has been named a top IP Strategist in the world by the publication.

Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) identified the “individuals who are leading the way in the development and implementation of strategies that maximize the value of IP portfolios.”

IAM researchers in the United States, Europe and Asia spoke to a wide range of senior corporate IP managers, as well as third-party IP service providers, in order to identify IP leaders “who offer top-tier services relating to the development and implementation of strategies which enable IP owners to maximize the value of their portfolio….Using a strict selection procedure and rigorous research process, only those individuals who possess exceptional skillsets — as well as having profound insights into the development, creation and management of IP value —are featured in the IAM Strategy 300.”

Only those individuals nominated multiple times by different parties as outstanding IP strategists are listed in the IAM Strategy 300. The 2020 edition includes professionals in areas such as brokering, defensive patent aggregation, finance, insurance, management consultancy, the law, licensing, mergers and acquisitions, tax and valuation.

Ragland also is ranked in the IAM Patent 1000: The World’s Leading Patent Professionals.  In addition, he is recommended and listed by Chambers USA, Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers, and Georgia Trend for Intellectual Property and Litigation. Ragland has been selected by Best Lawyers in America as “Lawyer of the Year” in numerous practice areas, including for Patent and Technology Law. Ragland is also received the 2018 Intellectual Property Community Service Award, which was jointly presented by Georgia State University, Georgia Institute of Technology, the Atlanta Bar Association and the State Bar of Georgia.
