Womble Carlyle has strengthened its Intellectual Property practice with the addition of experienced trademark and copyright attorney Laura Kees. She will practice in the firm’s Atlanta office.

Kees has more than 15 years of experience helping clients manage large, complex trademark and copyright portfolios. She works to ensure those clients’ trademarks and copyrights are protected in jurisdictions around the globe, often working with IP attorneys in other countries on behalf of her clients.

Her clients include an international hotel chain, a well-known restaurant group, a leading manufacturer of baby products, and a number of celebrity musicians, entertainers and athletes. Kees is active in the International Trademark Association, where she previously served on the Online Reference Committee and Advertising Subcommittee.

“Laura’s international practice fits well with the global reach of our Trademark Team,” said Sarah Keefe, Chair of the firm’s Trademarks, Copyrights and Transactions group. “A growing number of companies are doing business across international borders, and with lawyers like Laura on our team, we can help them safeguard their IP in the global marketplace.”
