Harrity Analytics ranked Womble Bond Dickinson as one of the nation’s Top 10 patent law firms for 2025. In the 2026 Top Patent Firms Report, researchers gathered information on the most utility patents obtained during the previous calendar year.

Womble Bond Dickinson ranked #10 nationally among nearly 500 firms ranked. Womble was credited with helping clients obtain 3,104 patents in 2025—a 61 percent increase from 2024. Womble was also ranked #10 for U.S. original patent filings.

Womble had the highest year-over-year growth of any Top 100 firm, a fact noted by IP Watchdog:

The ranking is even more remarkable considering that a significant number of 2025 patents were still attributed to Lewis Roca, which combined with Womble on January 1, 2025. If the additional Lewis Roca patents were combined with Womble’s (as they will be in future reports), the firm would have been credited with obtaining 3,696 patents for clients last year, which would have put the firm at fourth place in the overall rankings.
