WBD Sponsors AUTM 2026 Luncheon Celebrating Release of Technology Transfer Handbook

Womble Bond Dickinson had the honor of being the exclusive sponsor of the February 11th luncheon at the 2026 Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM) Annual Meeting in Seattle, WA. This event was particularly special as it celebrated the release of the Technology Transfer Handbook: A Policy Primer for the Commercialization of Intellectual Property and Invention.

The luncheon was a lively and engaging event, filled with enthusiastic attendees who were eager to learn more about the handbook and its implementation in international communities. One of the highlights was the book signing session featuring our very own Michael Samardzija, Ph.D., Senior Counsel at WBD. Michael co-authored the book with other thought leaders from around the world at the invitation of the US Department of Commerce's Commercial Law Development Program.

Lisa Moyles and Karthika Perumal, Ph.D., joined Michael in representing WBD at the conference. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with clients (Texas A&M University, NUtech Ventures, Consultora Mextrategy, University of California System, University of Texas System and their associated institutions) and technology transfer professionals throughout the academic innovation ecosystem.
