Former SEC Commissioner Dan Gallagher discussed “SEC Issues: Past, Present and Future” in the latest installment of the Womble Carlyle Baltimore Speaker Series on Thursday, Oct. 5.

Gallagher offered an interactive discussion on the challenges the SEC has faced in the past, commentary on where it is today and observations on trends and issues facing the Commission in the future.

The next Baltimore Speaker Series event takes place 7:30-9 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 7 and will discuss “The Hill and Atmosphere since Donald Trump was Elected.” Scheduled speakers will include NFL VP for Public Policy and Government Affairs Jon Nabavi, Nationwide VP for Federal Legislative and Regulatory Affairs Dean Pappas and Under Armour VP for Global Public Policy Matt Stanton.

About the Speaker

Dan Gallagher currently serves as chief legal officer for Mylan Pharmaceuticals. Gallagher previously served as president of Potomak Global Partners, a consulting firm providing strategic advice, compliance consulting, and litigation and regulatory enforcement services, from January 2016 to March 2017. From November 2011 to October 2015, Gallagher served as a commissioner of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Before being appointed commissioner, he served on the staff of the SEC in several capacities. Gallagher served as deputy director and co-acting director of the Division of Training and Markets from 2008 to 2010.
