Womble Bond Dickinson Partners Scott Hyman and Genevieve Walser-Jolly co-authored a new article on “California’s DFPI Issues Second Proposed Regulations on the Scope of California’s Debt Collection Licensing Act.” The article, which they authored with veteran California financial services attorney Paul Soter, was published in the Conference on Consumer Finance Law Quarterly Report.

Hyman is the author of the California CEB’s Practice Guide on The Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, co-author of the California CEB’s Practice Guide on the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation’s Enforcement Authority and is currently serving his second successive term on the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation’s Debt Collection Advisory Committee. (2021–2025).

Walser-Jolly is the author of the California CEB’s Practice Guide on The California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 and co-author of the California CEB’s Practice Guide on Privacy Laws Affecting Debtors and Debt Collection.  She is Vice-President of the Conference on Consumer Finance Law, and she is the Vice-Chair for the Privacy and Cybersecurity Subcommittee for the Consumer Financial Services Committee of the American Bar Association.
