Womble Bond Dickinson Houston Office Managing Partner Jeff Whittle has been appointed to the firm’s Global Board for a two-year term.
The Global Board is the entity responsible for guiding, managing, and fostering cooperation between Womble’s UK and U.S. operations. Established as a result of the 2017 combination that led to Womble Bond Dickinson’s formation, the Global Board also includes U.S. Chair and CEO Betty Temple and U.S. Partners Merrick Benn, Mary Bourke, Randy Hanson, Chris Jones, and Dean Rutley. Chris Mammen’s term on the Global Board has expired, but he will continue to advise the Global Board on a range of issues, including AI. The board’s aim is to guarantee a consistent and integrated client experience throughout the global reach of the firm.
Whittle is the Head of Womble Bond Dickinson’s Global Energy and Natural Resources Industry Sector. He advises energy and high-tech sector clients on strategic and complex technology merger & acquisition transactions, licensing, patent, trademark, and copyright protection, intellectual property portfolio analysis, and various other contentious and transactional matters.
“Our clients’ business gets more global seemingly by the day,” Whittle said. “Law firms will only succeed if they are prepared to serve clients operating in the global market. Thankfully, Womble is well-prepared for this challenge—and the Global Board is at the forefront of these efforts. I am honored to join this outstanding group of Partners in helping ensure we continue to meet our clients’ needs.”

Womble Bond Dickinson U.S. Chair & CEO Betty Temple said, “Energy and Natural Resources is a global sector, and Jeff’s leadership in this field makes him an ideal candidate to join our Global Board. For example, he recently has helped expand the firm’s work in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and even worked out of Saudi Arabia for several weeks. Welcome to the Global Board, Jeff!”
