  • Nuance Communications Inc. v. Omilia Natural Language Solutions, Ltd., D.Mass. (1:19-cv-11438). Representing Nuance in asserting claims against Omilia for infringement of 8 patents relating to artificial intelligence, speech recognition and interactive voice response systems, as well as claims for copyright infringement, violations of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, and claims for conversion and trespass to chattels. 
  • Reggie v. 7Hops.com Inc., N.D.Ga. (1:19-cv-05762). Represented Denis Reggie Photographers to protect the copyright for his iconic photograph of John F. Kennedy, Jr. kissing the hand of Carolyn Bessette as they left the wedding chapel on Cumberland Island, Georgia. Unauthorized use of this famous photograph surged prior to the wedding of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, leading to copyright infringement claims against major global media companies. 
  • SAS Institute Inc. v. World Programming Limited et al., E.D.Tex. (2:18-cv-00295). Represented SAS in prior litigation against WPL in North Carolina and won a $79 million judgment affirmed by the Fourth Circuit; ongoing litigation in multiple jurisdictions over collection of that judgment; SAS sued WPL in ED Tex., seeking additional relief for copyright infringement and patent infringement.
  • Nuance Communications, Inc. et al. v. Pindrop Security, Inc., E.D. Va. (No. 17-cv-1193). Represented Nuance and subsidiaries in contract and copyright dispute relating to voice biometric software; dismissed with prejudice pursuant to settlement.*
  • Karp v. Imagetrust et al., C.D. Cal. (No. 16-cv-9228). Represented Imagetrust and co-defendants in copyright infringement action relating to rock concert photographs; won dismissal of $293 million claim.*
  • Karp v. Adam Opel AG, et al., C.D. Cal. (No. 16-cv-9226). Represented defendants in copyright infringement action relating to rock concert photographs; plaintiff voluntarily dismissed case.*
