DENVER (August 9, 2024) – Womble Bond Dickinson announced today that Benjamin E. Busboom has joined the firm’s Denver office as a partner in the Corporate and Securities Practice Group. Busboom advises companies and investors on environmental, energy, and natural resources matters across the energy transition. He regularly structures and negotiates transactions and projects related to mining, oil and gas, renewable energy, CO2, biofuels, wireless telecommunications, and contaminated or environmentally sensitive areas.

Busboom, previously of Polsinelli, is the second partner to join the growing Denver office in as many months, following the arrival of patent partner Jason Vick in July.

“I’ve known and worked with Ben for many years, so I know he will be an excellent fit for our Global Energy and Natural Resources Team, adding further depth to several very active areas of the energy transition,” said Scot Anderson, Denver Office Managing Partner. “I can confidently speak on behalf of my colleagues when I say we could not be more excited to welcome Ben to Womble.”

In addition to his energy practice, Busboom has extensive experience in material supply and offtake matters. His proficiency in negotiating and structuring agreements for developing critical material resources and the offtake of raw materials highlights his deep understanding of the interconnectedness of energy production and material supply chains.

Busboom also draws on his 15 years of experience in the environmental, engineering, and energy industries to counsel clients on broad-spectrum operational, regulatory, and development matters relating to environmental diligence, risk mitigation, permitting, compliance, and resolution of administrative disputes or enforcement actions.

After earning a B.S. in biology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Busboom graduated from the Washburn University School of Law with a J.D. and certificates of concentration in Business and Transactional Law, Oil and Gas Law, and Natural Resources Law.

Since establishing the Denver office in September, Scot Anderson and Ana Maria Gutiérrez have been joined by business litigation partner John Hawk, patent partner Jason Vick, senior division counsel Wayne Chancellor, and associates Michael Miller and Noah Zedek. Gutiérrez was appointed leader of the firm’s Environmental practice earlier this year.
