Ben Busboom is a forward-thinking corporate and transactional attorney who works at the cutting edge of the energy transition and supports companies and investors navigating environmental, energy, and natural resource matters. Specifically, he structures and negotiates transactions and projects relating to:
- Mining (gold, lithium, and other battery metals)
- Oil and gas (exploration, operation, and transportation)
- Renewable energy (wind and solar)
- CO2 (capture, transport, sequestration, and tax incentives)
- Biofuels (ethanol and renewable natural gas)
- Wireless telecommunications (network development and operation)
- Contaminated or environmentally sensitive areas or projects (acquisition, disposition, development, and operation)
In addition to his energy practice, Ben has extensive experience in material supply and offtake matters. His proficiency in negotiating and structuring agreements for the development of critical material resources and the offtake of raw materials highlights his deep understanding of the interconnectedness of energy production and material supply chains.
Ben also draws on his 15-year tenure in the environmental, engineering, and energy industries to counsel clients on broad-spectrum operational, regulatory, and development matters relating to environmental diligence, risk mitigation, permitting, compliance, and resolution of administrative disputes or enforcement actions.
