Womble Carlyle Clients Recognized in ACG Maryland Deal of the Year Awards

Congratulations to Federal Data Systems, as well as the other companies and deals recognized at the Association of Corporate Growth Maryland Chapter’s 2017 Deal of the Year Awards on March 22^nd.

Womble Carlyle attorneys Scott Bowers, Newt Fowler, Mike Hardy, Doug Howard, Brian Meltzer and Heather Pruger, and Client Services Director Candace Gill attended the awards ceremony, which took place at the Baltimore Museum of Industry. The firm also was a sponsor of the event.

Judges honored the FedData recapitalization and sale as the 2017 Deal of the Year. The other finalists were:

• Baird Capital majority investment in R2i;
• JPB Partners acquiring a majority state in South Moon Under;
• Dentsu acquiring Merkle; and
• Jensen Hughes acquiring Aon FPE, Stevenson & Associates and Case Forensics.

Womble Carlyle teams led by Newt Fowler and John Gambaccini represented JPB Partners and R2i in their transactions and counseled a minority of the shareholders in connection with the FedData transaction.
