One of the world’s largest life sciences events is headed online, and Womble Bond Dickinson attorney Dr. Julie Meigs will be there (virtually) for the 2020 BIO Digital conference. The international online event takes place June 8-12.

Excitement is building for this event, as the bio industry has come together amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. This year’s theme of “Nothing Stops Innovation” is indicative of the spirit embodied by the industry. With that in mind, this year’s event has shifted to an exciting new five-day format, with 24-hour access to partnering with colleagues around the globe. Key thought leaders will be there, including Dr. Anthony Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and the public voice of the nation’s battle against COVID- 19; Dr. Moncef Slaoui, Ph.D., Head of U.S. Operation Warp Speed; and Dr. Michelle McMurrry-Heath, MD, Ph.D., incoming BIO President and CEO.

In addition to attending the conference, which brings together thousands of life sciences professionals, Cramer and Meigs will serve as judges for the Start-Up Stadium competition, which Womble Bond Dickinson is sponsoring. Start-Up Stadium was designed to provide start-up companies with the opportunity to engage key members of the investment community, venture philanthropy groups, strategic partners, and non-dilutive capital at the world’s largest biotechnology event.

The Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) serves more than 1,100 biotechnology companies, academic institutions, state biotechnology centers, and related organizations across the United States and in more than 30 other nations. Attendees from 55 countries have registered for this year’s convention.
