Merrick Benn Named to The Daily Record's Inaugural MD500

Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP is pleased to announce that Chair and CEO Merrick Benn has been named to The Daily Record's inaugural MD500, a recognition of the most influential and impactful leaders across Maryland. The MD500 spans more than three dozen industries, from law and banking to agriculture, higher education, and the arts. Unlike a traditional awards program, the list is not ranked and does not accept nominations for placement.

This inclusion reflects a career built at the intersection of firm leadership and sophisticated finance work. Since joining Womble in 2009, he has served three consecutive terms on the Firm Management Committee, held roles on the Executive Committee, led the Capital Markets Practice Group, and served as US Vice Chair before becoming Chair and CEO in January 2025. Today, he leads the Governing Board overseeing US strategy, operations, and profitability, and co-chairs the Global Board of Womble Bond Dickinson (International) Limited.

The MD500 adds to a series of recognitions from The Daily Record, which has previously named Benn to its Business Law Power List, honored him as an Influential Marylander, and recognized him through its Managing Partners program.
