RALEIGH, N.C.—For the fourth time in 2018, the Women of Womble Bond Dickinson (WOW) groups from the Raleigh and RTP offices volunteered their time to assist the Helen Wright Center for Women on Monday, Oct. 29.
The WOW volunteers prepared and served a chili dinner, with all the fixings, desserts and beverages, to around 30 women assisted by the Helen Wright Center.
Volunteers who either prepared food or served meals (or both) included Jenni Ammirati, Savannah Best, Susan Brown, Lisa Dixon, Taylor Ey, Jessica Gorczynski, Julie Meigs, Kim Richmond, Anna Short-Slightom and Theresa Sprain.
Service at the Helen Wright Center is part of an ongoing effort by the Raleigh and RTP WOW groups to engage in the local community by serving women in need. The Raleigh and RTP WOW groups have committed to volunteer at the Helen Wright Center in 2019.
The Helen Wright Center provides a variety of services to single, homeless women without children in their care. In addition to housing assistance and emergency shelter, the center also provides skill building, linkage to medical and social services, and crisis intervention.
