Womble Bond Dickinson attorney Audrey Karman was recently quoted in Law360 discussing the recent shift in priorities of the Department of Justice Criminal Division’s Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) under U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi.

“While the Trump administration is shifting the government's FCPA enforcement priorities, that doesn't mean the "DOJ will no longer pursue other forms of foreign corruption," said Karman. "Companies would be well-advised to ensure their compliance programs are effective and well-resourced in order to mitigate risks. There is no indication that the current pipeline of FCPA cases will be impacted given this recently announced shift in focus and the applicable statute of limitations for FCPA violations generally extends beyond this administration."

As a member of the firm’s White Collar Defense and Criminal Investigations practice, Karman advises on the complexities and risks associated with operating in matrixed business environments, particularly those involving substantial government contracting and interactions, and has experience overseeing and implementing enterprise-wide anti-corruption and anti-bribery programs.
