Apr 14 2026
Womble Bond Dickinson hosted its Spring Energy Summit 2026 on April 9, bringing together energy developers, investors, utilities, and public-sector leaders to discuss how public-private partnerships can drive the next wave of U.S. energy infrastructure.
The Summit showcased WBD’s experience across the full energy lifecycle, with a focus on practical execution in both regulated and competitive markets. Discussions emphasized aligning public and private objectives to advance grid reliability, expand capacity, and modernize critical infrastructure.
The program opened with a fireside chat with Commissioner David Rosner, who shared regulatory and policy perspectives on enabling infrastructure development while balancing reliability, affordability, and long-term system needs.
Panel 1: Developing Energy Megaprojects explored large-scale generation, transmission, and infrastructure projects, highlighting the role of public-private partnerships in addressing project financing, risk allocation, permitting, and coordination between developers and government entities.
Following networking, attendees heard a special address from an energy executive, offering an industry view on managing complexity and scaling infrastructure during periods of transition.
The program concluded with Panel 2: Designing the Playbook for the Next Public-Private Energy Projects, focusing on actionable steps private industry and governments can take together to accelerate infrastructure development, including early collaboration and regulatory clarity.
The Summit closed with a networking reception and reinforced WBD’s position as a trusted advisor and convener across electric power, renewables, natural gas, nuclear, infrastructure, and emerging energy technologies.
