On March 25, 2025, Womble Bond Dickinson’s Boston office hosted a “Lunch and Learn” for the New England Chapter of the Federal Communications Bar Association (FCBA), the Tech Bar. Approximately 30 people attended in person in the Womble Boston office, with more than 20 more attendees joining online.

The topic of the event was “Data Privacy Legislation in New England”. The panel discussion featured Vermont Attorney General Charity Clark; Connecticut State Senator James Maroney; and Mariner Strategies President Andrew Kingman. Vermont Assistant Attorney General and FCBA New England Chapter Co-chair Sarah Aceves moderated the panel discussion.

The speakers explored data privacy legislation in New England, including successes, challenges, and potential changes. They also examined data privacy legislation and regulation, as well as what they see as key to successful and effective data privacy laws.

Attorney Barlow Keener, a NE FBCA Chapter steering committee member, and attorneys Paul Afonso and Jed Nosal represented Womble Bond Dickinson at the event.
