Tara Gorman, Lynn O’Brien to Speak at Hotel & Lodging Legal Summit 2025

Womble Bond Dickinson attorneys Tara Gorman and Lynn O’Brien will be among the speakers at the Hotel & Lodging Legal Summit 2025, presented by Georgetown Law.

Gorman will moderate a panel discussion of veteran industry consultants on, “What Hotel Industry Finance and Development Consultants Want Their Clients' Lawyers to Know”. The best-run hotel deals are shepherded from idea to closing by a team of experienced industry professionals, including attorneys and business consultants. While industry lawyers and business consultants serve mutual clients on the same projects, the bulk of their work often falls within different phases, they often focus on different priorities, and they speak different professional languages. What advice do finance and development consultants in the industry have for their clients’ lawyers on these deals? From the consultants’ perspective, how can the lawyers better serve their clients?

O’Brien will contribute her immigration expertise in a panel discussion titled, “Workplace Immigration Enforcement Under the New Administration”. With promises of mass deportation, extreme border controls, and a dramatic increase in funding, immigration policy has already changed dramatically and will continue to do so. What exactly will that mean for employers? This session will provide an update on immigration policy changes, I-9 enforcement and investigations into employer practices. The panelists will discuss the impact of these developments on employees and provide proactive advice for employers.
