LAS VEGAS—Womble Bond Dickinson attorneys Scott Bowers and Art Howson represented the firm at BIOGAS AMERICAS, the largest annual event for the U.S. biogas and renewable natural gas industry.

Biogas systems recycle waste while also producing renewable energy and soil products that displace fossil fuels. Biogas systems are also one of the most effective solutions for waste management, by recycling organic material, like food waste and manure, into renewable energy and soil products while also reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. In addition, the digested material from biogas systems has been shown to boost crop yields up to 10-30% compared to chemical fertilizers. The U.S. currently has 2,300 sites producing biogas in all 50 states, with the potential to build more than 15,000 new biogas systems.

Presented by the American Biogas Council, BIOGAS AMERICAS took place May 23-26 in Las Vegas. The conference attracted an audience of project developers, equipment suppliers, service providers, operators, investors, utilities, policymakers and other biogas/renewable natural gas industry stakeholders.
