COLUMBIA, MD.—Womble Bond Dickinson attorney Newt Fowler will be among the tech transaction industry leaders speaking at “Cyber M&A: What’s Your Number?” The event takes place May 24 and is presented by the Maryland Tech Council.

The following four numbers illustrate the significance of the cyber M&A industry:

  • $9 billion—What is spent in Venture Capital funding each year in the DMV.
  • $1 trillion—The market for cyber security products and services.
  • 15%—The US cyber security market’s annual growth (CAGR). 
  • $31.2 billion—The amount spent on just the top 20 M&As, solely in the cyber security space.

Fowler will be joined in the discussion by Strategic Cyber Ventures (SCV) Senior Associate Chris Ahearn; VC investor and ARINC CEO John Belcher; VC investor and Gula Tech Adventures President/Co-Founder Ron Gula; Stifel Cybersecurity Industry Analyst Gur Talpaz; and KeyW President/CEO Bill Weber. Greg Boucher, President of StrataSource Consulting, will moderate the discussion.
