Womble Bond Dickinson Senior Counsel Michael Clark will moderate and speak at a panel at the 2022 Healthcare Enforcement Compliance Conference presented by the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA). 

Clark will take part in a Nov. 7 virtual panel discussion on “Federal/State Enforcement and the Opioid Crisis”. The panelists will address such topics as:

  • Criminal and civil federal and state enforcement initiatives to combat the opioid crisis;
  • The legal basis for criminal and civil enforcement and the changing landscape; and
  • Pain management and pain doctors and the opioid crisis.

Joining Clark in the panel discussion will be Verrill Dana LLP Partner David Lazarus; Kilby MacFadden, Principal Assistant Deputy Chief, Criminal Division, U.S. Department of Justice; and Ashlee Martin, Partner at Gerger Hennessy Martin.

Clark is an accomplished litigator who has served as lead counsel in over 100 jury trials and handled dozens of appeals. Among other matters, he represents clients in complex litigation, including civil False Claims Act cases and investigations, advises clients on regulatory compliance and corporate governance matters, handles arbitration matters, and represents clients in internal investigations and trials. Clark practices in Womble Bond Dickinson’s Houston office.
