Congratulations to Womble Bond Dickinson’s Michael E. Clark, for his appointment as Vice Chair, ABA Relations for the Health Law Section of the American Bar Association. Clark’s term will begin September 1, 2025. 

Clark is a past chair of the ABA Health Law Section, currently serves on the ABA Committee on Legal Specialization (an appointment from the ABA President), and co-chairs the ABA False Claims Act Mock Trial Institute. This additional appointment reflects his abilities, dedication, and commitment to the ABA’s Health Law Section.

We applaud Michael's continued leadership in the Heath Law Section and his dedication to the practice of law,” said Lisa Rushton, co-leader of the firm’s Business Litigation practice group. 

Clark is an accomplished litigator with years of experience in the federal government and subsequently in private practice. He has served as lead counsel in over 100 jury trials and handled dozens of appeals. Among other matters, he represents clients in complex litigation, including civil False Claims Act cases and investigations, advises clients on regulatory compliance and corporate governance matters, handles arbitration matters, and represents clients in internal investigations and trials. Before private practice, Clark had a distinguished government career, beginning as an Assistant District Attorney in Galveston County, Texas. Later, he served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Texas, where he was a section chief of its Financial Fraud Division, then was promoted to chief of its Criminal Division. He practices from the firm’s Houston office.
