Jan 15 2025
The Food and Drug Law Institute (FDLI) has announced that Mark Vaders will serve on the 2025 Tobacco and Nicotine Products Committee. This committee supports FDLI staff in developing programming for the annual Tobacco and Nicotine Products Regulation and Policy Conference as well as the Tobacco Regulatory Science Symposium, both of which take place in late October.
Mark has been a member of FDLI since 2014 and has served on the Tobacco and Nicotine Products Committee since 2020. He regularly participates in conference panels as a speaker or moderator, and has taught portions of the FDLI “Introduction to Tobacco Law and Regulation” course.
At the October 2024 conference, Mark moderated a discussion between Matthew Farrelly (Director, Office of Science, Center for Tobacco Products, FDA) and Matt Holman (VP US Scientific Engagement & Regulatory Strategy, PMI and Former Director, Office of Science, Center for Tobacco Products, FDA). The discussion focused on how FDA should apply the “Appropriate for the Protection of Public Health” standard in authorizing marketing of new tobacco products.
