Womble Bond Dickinson attorneys David Beckstead (Boston), Paul LeBlanc (Houston) and Belton Zeigler (Columbia) attended the Association of International Energy Negotiators (AIEN)-United States Chapter Conference on October 28 in Houston. WBD proudly supported the event as a conference sponsor.

Belton Zeigler was a panelist for an afternoon panel titled “Power for Energy, Energy for Power: Balancing Supply, Demand, and Technology”. The panel discussed the legal frameworks surrounding grid expansion, the increasing power demands of data centers, and the evolving roles of diverse generation sources – from traditional fuels like gas and coal to renewables and nuclear – in shaping a reliable and sustainable energy future, and how leveraging the robust contractual knowledge from the traditional oil and gas space can be utilized to continue to accelerate this space. Zeigler was joined on the panel by Jared Berg, Bracewell LLP and moderator Kay Brkic, Gexa Energy, LP.

David Beckstead provided remarks at the close of the conference. David also served as one of the Conference Co-Chairs and was instrumental in assembling this diverse group of professionals at the conference to share insights and solutions to the challenges shaping the future of global energy.

The Association of International Energy Negotiators is an independent not-for-profit professional membership association that supports international energy negotiators around the world and enhances their effectiveness and professionalism in the international energy community.
