Womble Bond Dickinson Partner Francisco Balduzzi has been honored as a recipient of the 2024 Lexology Client Choice Award in the M&A category. He and his fellow honorees were recognized at a March 7 dinner in London.
The Lexology Client Choice Awards, established in 2005, are a recognition of experts from law and consulting firms as well as barristers worldwide that stand apart for the excellent client care they provide and the quality of their service. The awards are unique in that they are based exclusively on the feedback from clients and are the result of a comprehensive research process that involves a readership survey of in-house counsel subscribers to Lexology.
Clients are asked to rate individuals on an array of criteria including the quality of legal advice, value for money, commercial awareness, effective communication, billing transparency, tailored fee structures, response time, sharing of expertise, and use of technology. The results of this survey are used to draw up shortlists by country and work area and shortlisted candidates are then invited to submit up to five client referees.
The awards cover a broad spectrum of categories, reflecting the diversity of legal services. These include Arbitration & ADR, Banking, Competition & Antitrust, Corporate Immigration, Corporate Tax, Energy & Natural Resources, Environment, Gaming, Intellectual Property, Labour & Employment, and many more. Each category recognizes individuals who have excelled in their respective fields, providing exceptional service to their clients. The 2024 awards recognized 745 winners across various jurisdictions, highlighting the global reach and impact of these awards.
Balduzzi focuses his practice cross-border and international corporate, commercial, investment transactions and disputes with a substantive focus in Latin America. He has extensive experience in the Energy and Natural Resources (ENR) sector, particularly within the energy service (oil, gas, and power), metal and mining industries. Currently, Balduzzi is a member of Womble’s Global Energy Leadership team, co-chair of the Mining Practice Group and a core member of the Latin American Practice Group.
In his previous roles, Balduzzi served as in-house counsel for multinational companies operating in the ENR sector. Most recently, he held the position of Head of Legal LATAM and Asia Pacific for one of the world's largest gold mining companies.
