Chris Mammen to Discuss “Creativity and AI” at Oxford University Seminar
Jun 05 2025
On July 3, Womble Bond Dickinson Partner Chris Mammen will take part in an Oxford University seminar on “Creativity and AI.”
The rapid rise of AI is a major topic of conversation within the creative industries. From the Writers Guild strike in 2023 to recent prominent figures challenging the UK government’s plans to exempt technology firms from copyright laws, the landscape is rapidly shifting. The panelists will explore how AI is impacting human creativity, the various ways AI is currently being used, and the laws that need to govern AI and Intellectual Property in the modern world.
Mammen will be joined in biennial Univ Seminar by Baroness Amos, Master of University College, Oxford, as well as Professor Charlotte Deane, Philippa Malicka, and Professor Pireeni Sundaralingam.
One of only a handful of practicing lawyers to have earned a doctorate in Law from Oxford University in addition to a U.S. law degree, Chris has held visiting faculty positions at Oxford University as well as UC Hastings School of Law, Berkeley Law School and Stanford Law School.
