On May 15, Womble Bond Dickinson’s Carri Bennet will moderate a panel during Connect (X), a premier telecommunications infrastructure conference taking place in Atlanta.

Bennet’s panel, “Connecting Rural America” will address the issue of insufficient broadband connectivity in rural and Tribal Land areas of the U.S., and the efforts of various states to bridge this digital divide and explore the ongoing debate about the most effective broadband technology—fiber versus fixed wireless access. The panel will examine the advantages and disadvantages of each technology and discuss strategies for communities to assess which option best suits their needs.

Joining Bennet on the panel are Imix Shish, Executive Vice President and General Counsel, Agile Networks,  Richard Bernhardt, Vice President, Spectrum and Industry, WISPA, and 
Susan Ross, Vice President, Vertical and New Product Sales, American Tower.

Carri Bennet has more than three decades of experience representing wireline, wireless and broadband communications providers in regulatory compliance matters. She has a particular focus on advocating for small rural carriers, including serving as General Counsel to the Rural Wireless Association. Bennet also serves as outside board counsel to several rural broadband companies in the U.S. while also represents telecom industry clients before the FCC, state regulatory agencies, the courts, and Congress.
