BOSTON, MASS.— Congratulations to Womble Bond Dickinson Corporate attorney Caitlin MacDowell, who has been named a member of the Women in the Enterprise of Science & Technology (WEST) Board of Directors.
Deborah Vernon, Ph.D., an Intellectual Property partner in the firm’s Boston office, after four years of Board service is stepping down from the WEST Board of Directors. Dr. Vernon will continue to support WEST as an advisor to the Board of Directors.
WEST is a Boston-based organization that provides professional development and career support for early and mid-career women in the fields of science and technology.
Caitlin MacDowell represents public and private clients in a broad range of corporate and transactional matters, including domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity investments, technology licensing and commercial transactions, joint ventures, corporate governance, restructurings and other transactional matters.
Deborah Vernon, Ph.D., assists clients in obtaining and enforcing intellectual property rights in both the US, and abroad. During graduate school, Dr. Vernon investigated novel processing routes for controlling grain growth in nanocomposite materials. Dr. Vernon has used that research experience, which included designing and building chemical processing equipment, to build patent portfolios in the areas of metallurgy, semiconductors, photovoltaics, plasma science, ceramics, thin films, nanophase materials, composite materials, spectroscopy, medical devices and instrumentation, and analytical chemistry.
