Ryan joined the firm in September 2017 and is currently a Solicitor in the Construction and Engineering Team, mainly focusing on transactional work for both public and private sector construction projects.
Ryan graduated with an upper second class degree in Law from Exeter University in 2013 and passed the Legal Practice Course with Distinction in 2017.
Ryan had previously worked within the firm as a paralegal in the Plymouth office as a part of the Flex team. Whilst there, Ryan specialised in Intellectual Property with a specific focus on trade mark matters, but also worked on significant matters for the firm's Construction and Engineering, Oil and Gas, and Employment practices.
Examples of experience include advising:
- Education & Skills Funding Agency - Drafting construction contracts (including those based on JCT and NEC templates) and associated documents, including the management of the contractual process on the client's behalf for various projects related to the construction/repair of free schools
- Science Central/Newcastle City Council – Assisting with contractual documentation for the enabling works required in advance of the development of the flagship Science City development in Newcastle upon Tyne.
