Mike Choy is a partner in the firm’s Finance, Bankruptcy & Restructuring Practice Group. He concentrates his practice on representing financial institutions and lenders in a wide variety of commercial and debt financing transactions. He also advises corporate clients on a broad range of commercial and business transactions.
With over 20 years of diverse experience representing financial institutions and lenders in large law firms and in senior in-house roles in corporate legal departments of regional and national banks, Mike most recently served as Senior Vice President and Managing Counsel at one of the country’s largest money center banks. In that role, he co-led the Middle Market Banking Legal Team, acting as section leader of the Emerging Middle Market segment and Specialized Industries lending businesses, including, healthcare, government and technology. He also served on the Commercial Banking Division Leadership Team within the Legal Department.
Thanks to his extensive in-house experience and depth of understanding of internal risk and operational considerations, Mike is uniquely qualified to support clients with a keen sense of pragmatism, efficiency and colloboration. Prior to his in-house roles, he was an associate at Am Law 50 firms in Atlanta and Chicago for over 7 years. His practice focused on representing financial institutions, non-bank lenders and borrowers in a variety of complex finance transactions. He also represented large corporate clients in various domestic and cross-border commercial transactions.
