CHARLOTTE, N.C.—Womble Carlyle attorney Patrick Strubbe served as an introductory speaker at the ACG Charlotte Deal Crawl Conference.

Strubbe provided the sponsor introduction at a breakout session titled “Top Talent Strategies – The Private Equity Way.” In the panel discussion, participants addressed how financial sponsors attract, develop and retain top talent both in-house and within the portfolio company.  The panel delved into the various private equity talent management strategies; discussed how to assess and develop talent; and explored how to increase the likelihood of success in any private equity group or deal. Womble Carlyle served as the Affinity Sponsor for the session.

Gary Green (Managing Director at Cameron Carmichael), Matt Ibbetson (VP of Portfolio Operations at Ridgemont Equity Partners) and Craig della Penna (Partner at Green Peak Partners) participated in the “Top Talent Strategies” discussion, which was moderated by Blake Narr (Regional Business Development Leader at Dixon Hughes Goodman).

The ACG Charlotte Deal Crawl Conference was launched in 2013 to showcase Charlotte as the headquarters of middle-market M&A. Charlotte boasts an impressive list of investment banking firms, all based within a five block radius of Charlotte’s Uptown city center (Trade and Tryon Streets). This program was designed to allow equity capital providers to “crawl” across town visiting with these firms.

Since 2013, the conference has grown dramatically and now hosts more than 35 private equity firms and 30 investment banks from across the country for this two-day event. More than 350 people convened in Charlotte Sept. 13-14 to attend the Deal Crawl Conference.

Patrick Strubbe serves as a trusted advisor by providing corporate and financing solutions to both international and domestic companies.  He brings over eight years of prior business experience to his law practice and is a member of Womble Carlyle’s Corporate & Securities and Global Business Groups.
