ATLANTA—Womble Bond Dickinson has strengthened its robust Atlanta-based Patent Team with the addition of veteran patent attorney Chris Kent.
Chris is a former Primary Examiner at the US Patent & Trademark Office and has almost 20 years of experience in private practice, managing complex US and international patent portfolios, providing patent eligibility opinions and guiding the clients through the patent prosecution process. He also has prosecuted reissue and reexamination applications and conducted oral appeal hearings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. His patent clients include companies in the mechanical, electrical, systems, and software technology sectors.
In all, Chris has nearly 30 years of patent experience, including patents related to power generation, engine technology, transmissions, aircraft-related technology, and industrial manufacturing.
At Womble Bond Dickinson, Chris joins a team of more than 150 IP lawyers and patent agents in the US and UK. The firm serves more than 2,000 patent and trademark clients, managing nearly 16,000 active patent matters, including issued and pending patents, throughout the world. Team members prepare and file approximately 2,000 US and international patent applications per year.
