WASHINGTON, DC—Experienced corporate and securities attorney Reid Avett has joined Womble Bond Dickinson’s Washington, DC office.

Reid serves as outside general counsel to public and private companies and their boards, advising on a range of corporate and governance matters. He also guides companies in complex securities transactions, including equity and debt financings, as well as their regulatory compliance matters. In addition to his securities practice, Reid provides counsel to on communications law issues including transactional and compliance matters for broadcasters.

Prior to attending law school, Reid worked as an accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions. Reid, who is also a North Carolina Certified Public Accountant, began his legal career at a NYSE listed public company and moved to private practice in 2007.
