CHARLESTON, S.C.—The Charleston Women in International Trade (CWIT) featured Elizabeth “Babs” Warner, Vice President, Legal Services and Corporate Secretary at Santee Cooper, as a guest speaker at its February 9th meeting.

Warner spoke about Santee Cooper, South Carolina’s largest power producer, and its role in economic development and alternative energy sourcing.

Attending from Womble Carlyle were Cynthia Morton, Ashley Kutz Kelley and Denise Herlihy. Kelley coordinated the presentation, in her role as the Programs Chair for CWIT.  She is slated to be Vice-Chair of CWIT (2016-2018).

Shawan Gillians, Santee Cooper Associate General Counsel, also attended. Warner and Gillians both formerly practiced at Buist Moore Smythe McGee (Womble Carlyle’s predecessor firm in Charleston).
