Womble Bond Dickinson attorneys Julie Abelman, Mason Freeman, Nick Hawkins, Marie Anne Mastrovito and Shawan Gillians and Development and Diversity Director Victoria Taylor represented the firm at the Minority Corporate Counsel (MCCA) Creating Pathways to Diversity Conference.
Shawan was selected to participate in MCCA’s sixth annual Pitch Session Network. The Pitch Session Network provides a platform for diverse law firm attorneys and legal service providers to meet privately, make meaningful connections, and build lasting business relationships with corporate legal departments interested in legal services.
In addition to being a long-time sponsor of MCCA, Womble Bond Dickinson co-sponsored the Pitch Session Network Dinner along with Microsoft. Mason gave opening remarks at the event. The dinner was held on Monday, October 19 at Robert, the restaurant atop of the Museum of Arts and Design.
Victoria also was invited to participate in a private DEI professionals roundtable.
This year’s Creating Pathways Conference also served as the 25th anniversary celebration for MCCA. It was held in person for the first time since 2019. The event took place Oct. 17-19 in New York City.
