Womble Bond Dickinson Partner Scot Anderson will speak at the World Bank’s 2023 African Mining Legislation Atlas (AMLA) Capacity Building Workshop on December 7. Anderson will speak on topic of State Equity Participation.

The AMLA team, together with the University of Botswana, will host the 2023 Capacity Building Workshop December 4 through December 13. The workshop is a highly selective program, limited to 15 students studying mining law from various African universities. This year’s workshop will consist of a hybrid format, with both in person lectures at the University of Botswana campus as well as virtual lectures.

Anderson is the Managing Partner of the Womble Bond Dickinson Denver office as well as the co-head of the firm’s Energy and Natural Resources Metals & Mining Subsector. He advises clients on commercial transactions, including the acquisition, divestiture, and financing of natural resource projects. His decades of experience afford a deep understanding of the extractives industries and their role in the energy transition. He has worked extensively in securing battery metals and critical minerals for client’s manufacturing equipment for the energy transition.
