AUSTIN, TEXAS—In 2018, the Association of Corporate Counsel will hold its Annual Meeting in the fastest-growing city in the United States—Austin. And Womble Bond Dickinson will be front and center as leaders of the in-house counsel industry converge in the Texas capital.

A team of 15 attorneys and staff members will represent the firm at #ACCAM18, and will network and work the firm’s booth on the exhibition hall floor throughout the event.

Womble Bond Dickinson attorney Claire Rauscher will speak in a panel discussion on “It’s Elemental: Develop an Industry-leading Compliance Program” on Monday, Oct. 22. Later that day, Womble Bond Dickinson’s Elizabeth O’Neill will speak in a panel discussion on “Evaluating Privilege for In-house Counsel Communications”.

In addition, Womble Bond Dickinson is the long-time sponsor of the ACC Compliance & Ethics Network (formerly “Committee”) and will host its monthly network meeting in-person as part of #ACCAM18. Womble Bond Dickinson attorney Jim Cooney will deliver the program and discuss his defense work in the famous Duke Lacrosse case.

During the event, Womble Bond Dickinson attorney Mark Henriques will be recording episodes of the In-House Roundhouse Podcast, in which he discusses timely issues with general counsel from industry-leading companies.

But the ACC Annual Meeting also is a chance to catch up with old acquaintances. So with that in mind, Womble Bond Dickinson and Lex Mundi are teaming up to host an after-hours gathering of Compliance & Ethics members, clients, prospects and friends at Austin’s famous Iron Cactus Mexican Grill & Margarita Bar. The evening will include networking, as well as photos with a live longhorn steer, armadillo races and, of course, some of the live music that Austin is famous for.

The 2018 ACC Annual Meeting takes place Oct. 21-24 and is the world’s largest annual gathering of in-house counsel.
