Rose specialises in intellectual property law, advising clients in relation to the full range of intellectual property rights, on contentious and non-contentious matters. Rose works with a range of clients, from large international corporations to SMEs and sole traders. 

Rose’s contentious experience includes advising clients in relation to trade marks, passing off, patents, copyright, designs and misuse of confidential information, both in pursuing and defending claims. She has worked on cases in the High Court and Court of Appeal, and is particularly involved in cases issued in the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court, and has experience of handling specialist small claims. 

Rose has led on actions in the Company Names Tribunal and Nominet's Dispute Resolution Service, and has knowledge of other alternative dispute resolution processes. She has successfully settled a number of disputes for clients. 

In terms of non-contentious practice, Rose regularly drafts and negotiates commercial agreements involving intellectual property, such as development agreements, licences and assignments. She also advises on intellectual property issues and opportunities arising out of corporate transactions. 

Rose studied at the University of Oxford, at undergraduate level for a degree in Jurisprudence, and later for a Postgraduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice. She is a member of the Licensing Executives Society International, the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys and IPSoc (a society for junior IP practitioners).

    • Working for Jemella Group on a number of trade mark infringement claims in the High Court and Intellectual Property Enterprise Court 
    • Advising a number of retailers trading in electronics in relation to parallel imports
    • Assisting with a trade mark infringement dispute brought in the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court and Court of Appeal in relation to the mark WISHBONE ASH
    • Negotiating the terms of licensing arrangements for a data provider
