Gareth has specialised in information technology and intellectual property law for many years. In addition, Gareth is the firm Deputy Supplier Relationship Manager for the Crown Commercial Service General Legal Advice Services Framework.

He advises on major projects relating to the procurement of IT solutions and outsourcing of IT services and business processes. He has substantial expertise in acting for public bodies and has focussed primarily in the health, local and central government sectors on high value and business critical transactions, frequently involving the use of strategic partnering arrangements. 

Many of the matters he has worked on have also involved a collaborative approach by numerous public sector organisations working together, which has ensured that maximum benefit has been achieved for the public sector through the use of its increased purchasing power.

More recently, he has advised on projects which adopt an agile software development approach as opposed to the traditional waterfall model. 

Gareth has also acted for suppliers bidding for appointments under competitive dialogue procurements and is well versed in pricing risk as part of a tender submission.

He also advises private sector organisations in relation to software licensing issues.
