Womble Bond Dickinson Vice Chair Ken Van Winkle has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Phoenix Convention and Visitors Bureau, the non-profit organization that promotes tourism and conventions for the Greater Phoenix region. His three-year term on the board begins July 1.

Tourism is a powerful economic engine for the Greater Phoenix area. The region attracts over 46 million visitors annually. Those visitors generate nearly $23 billion in total economic impact.

In addition, the tourism industry supports approximately 140,000 local jobs and drives over $1.6 billion in state and local tax revenues.

“Tourism and hospitality are vital components of our local economy and the Phoenix Convention and Visitors Bureau does a great job of leading these efforts. I look forward to working with the Visit Phoenix team to help show the world all the great things we have to offer.”
