Denver, CO (October 2, 2025) – Womble Bond Dickinson announced today that Kate Broome has joined the firm as Senior Counsel in its Denver office. With two decades of international transactional experience, Broome strengthens Womble’s growing presence in the Rocky Mountain region and enhances the firm’s capabilities across energy, mining, private equity, and infrastructure.

Broome will be a key member of Womble’s Cross Border and Energy Team, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, complex debt and equity financings, private equity transactions including portfolio company support, and international dispute resolution. Her practice spans the full transactional lifecycle including due diligence, identification and mitigation of legal risks, negotiation of deal documents and post-closing implementation.

“Kate is a significant addition to our team,” said Scot Anderson, leader of Womble’s Cross Border and Energy Team. “She brings exceptional depth in energy transactions, cross-border dealmaking, and private equity – along with the strategic insight that comes from years of advising at the highest levels of business.  Kate has worked in-house for an international oil and gas producer, a midstream oil and gas company, and a firm that invests in the mining industry. Her arrival strengthens our national platform, elevates our Denver presence, and enhances the service we deliver to clients across industries and geographies.”

Broome brings a rare combination of in-house and private practice experience. She previously served as Deputy General Counsel at a global private equity firm focused on mining, and as senior in-house counsel to a high-growth international portfolio company. She also practiced at several leading law firms, and throughout her career, she has advised clients on complex, multi-jurisdictional transactions across North and South America, Europe, Australia, and Africa.

Her sector experience includes upstream and midstream oil and gas, mining, asset management, real estate, and infrastructure. She regularly advises executives, boards of directors, and investment committees on high-stakes deals, governance, and regulatory matters. Her work often involves ESG frameworks, political risk mitigation, cross-border compliance, and international arbitration. She is known for her pragmatic, business-aligned approach and ability to lead multi-jurisdictional legal teams.

Broome has been recognized as one of Oil and Gas Investor’s Top 20 Under 40 and named a Top Woman in Energy by the Denver Business Journal. She is also active in the Denver civic community, having served on nonprofit boards and advisory councils supporting youth development and social equity.

She holds a J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, an M.B.A. in International Business from the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver, and a B.A. in Business and Spanish from Calvin College.
