RESTON, VA.—Womble Bond Dickinson Government Contracts attorney Matt Koehl presented as a panelist at immixGroup’s 2019 Government IT Sales Summit.  The 2019 Summit took place Nov. 21 with more than 2,000 attendees from government and industry.  The Summit provides a forum for IT industry and government professionals to share knowledge and work together to identify solutions to Government’s requirements for technology solution procurements. Womble Bond Dickinson was a sponsor of the event for the second year in a row, and also sponsored the event’s coffee bar.

The panel, entitled “GSA and the Evolution of Government Contracts,” highlighted how the General Services Administration (GSA) is extending the reach of its Schedule 70 contract program by taking on former agency-specific contract requirements and contract programs.  The Panel also addressed emerging changes in the government’s approach to procuring technology solutions, including MAS consolidation, commercial e-commerce portals, catalog management and contract-writing systems. Panelists also discussed how GSA and Schedule 70 may continue to evolve past 2020.

Joining Koehl in the panel discussion were BDO Industry Specialty Services Managing Director Larry Allen, former Deputy Administrator for the Office of Federal Procurement Robert Burton, and immixGroup Corporate Counsel Hollie Kapos.

Formerly General Counsel of MicronPC, Matt Koehl has more than 20 years of experience representing government contractors in proceedings before the US Government Accountability Office (GAO), Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Office of Hearing and Appeals, and the Boards of Contract Appeals, with a particular emphasis on matters relating to the Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) program.
