Womble Carlyle’s new Raleigh office in Charter Square was nominated for the Triangle Commercial Real Estate Women (Triangle CREW) Champion Awards in the category of Best Interiors Project.
The Champion Awards is an annual event that recognizes the accomplishments of the best projects and professionals in commercial real estate. Charter Square was also nominated for the Best Development Project, Best Redevelopment Project, and Green or Sustainability Award.
Raleigh Office Managing Partner Johnny Loper, attorneys Nellie Shipley (a member and past President of TCREW), Liz Riley and Mike Thelen, Director of Facilities Keith Arnott and Raleigh Director of Administration Christine Peterson represented Womble Carlyle at the April 28th awards ceremony.
In the middle of a catch-up period for local real estate, a number of award categories had many more nominees than usual. For example, there were 20 nominations for the Best Interiors Project Award.
Womble Carlyle is the anchor tenant of Charter Square, a new 11-story Class A building located at 555 Fayetteville Street. Charter Square is immediately adjacent to centers of activity, such as the Duke Energy Performing Arts Center, the Raleigh Convention Center and City Plaza. The building was designed to be Platinum LEED certified for energy efficiency. The new office opened in December 2015.
Charter Square already has been named the state’s Best Commercial Project in the 2015 Building North Carolina Awards by Business North Carolina magazine.
