Womble Bond Dickinson attorney Ted Claypoole will speak at the American Home Furnishing Alliance (AHFA) “Must-Know Cybersecurity Strategies for 2021” virtual event on Feb. 16.

The global cost of cybercrime is expected to reach $6 trillion this year, according to IDG, a technology media company that produces an annual State of the CIO report. In its most recent study, 70 percent of CIOs said they plan to ask for an increased budget for cybersecurity this year. It will be money well spent.

Claypoole, whose practice spans all sectors of the innovation economy, including privacy and cybersecurity, will discuss the legal ramifications companies face in the aftermath of a cyberattack. He will be joined by CyberSecOp CEO Vincent LaRocca, who will help webinar participants understand the most common causes of data breaches and how companies become a target of cybercriminals.
