GREENVILLE, SC—Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP has named Sterling Laney the new Managing Partner of the firm’s Greenville office. Laney succeeds Jamie Francis, who has led the office since 2015 and who will continue to serve as a partner on the firm’s Corporate Team.  

Laney joined the firm in 2005, after serving as Vice President, Counsel, and Chief Compliance Officer to Advance American Cash Advance Centers, Inc. His practice focuses on representing financial services client in single-plaintiff and class action litigation as well as dispute resolution alternatives such as loan modifications, forbearance agreements, and other loan workouts. He also counsels financial industry clients regarding regulatory compliance, consumer credit issues, commercial real estate transactions and disputes, complex business litigation, and general corporate matters. Laney leads Womble Bond Dickinson’s Consumer Financial Services Team.

As Managing Partner of the Greenville office, Laney will lead a team of nearly 40 professionals, including 19 attorneys.
