On June 21, 2024, Womble Bond Dickinson partner Kim Stogner was formally installed as the 130th president of the North Carolina Bar Association. She will also serve as president of the North Carolina Bar Foundation, the charitable organization that leads pro bono and civic education efforts for the NCBA.
The swearing-in ceremony took place at the NCBA Annual Meeting in Charlotte. Superior Court Judge Eric C. Morgan administered the oath of office as Stuart Stogner held the Bible.
“In its truest expressions, the legal profession is not merely a career; it is a calling that demands the highest standards of integrity, justice, and service,” said Stogner. “As president, I am committed to fostering an environment where these values are not just ideals but lived experiences for every member of our association.”

Stogner was elected in July 2023 and served the past year as the organization’s president-elect.
As a leader within Womble’s Private Wealth Sector, Stogner has extensive experience in trusts and estates law and a well-rounded business background. Before law school, she acted as a personal trust officer for two national banking corporations and earned the Certified Financial Planner designation. That experience is frequently relied upon to guide high-net-worth individuals and individual and corporate fiduciaries on matters involving estate planning, business succession planning, and estate and trust administration and disputes. She is a fellow of the American College of Trusts and Estates Counsel and a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning and Probate Law by the North Carolina State Bar.
