Once again, Womble Bond Dickinson Partner Joe Whitley will be a speaker at the American Bar Association's Criminal Justice Section White Collar Crime Institute​. The 2026 installment of this anticipated annual event takes place March 10-13 in San Diego.

Whitley will moderate a panel discussion titled, “Sanctions and Export Control Enforcement Agenda: Legal and Policy Initiatives.” The federal government’s increasing prioritization of Sanctions, export controls, and tariffs has led to an increase in enforcement risk for companies and financial institutions. Panel members will discuss these heightened enforcement areas, review significant enforcement actions from the past year, and share thoughts on what trends companies, financial institutions, and their counsel should expect going forward.
