Scott Jones, a member of Womble Bond Dickinson’s GCSolutions team, helps clients navigate complex global trade, sanctions, and export control issues. He works with a diverse array of clients and provides support in risk analysis, trade and security assessments, and specialized training programs tailored to industry and market-specific needs.

With over 25 years of experience, Scott has conducted international outreach on export controls and sanctions in more than 60 countries. He regularly briefs both U.S. and foreign government officials, as well as private sector clients, on a wide range of international trade and security issues. Scott is also a prolific writer, with publications in academic and trade publications. He serves on the editorial board of the Strategic Trade Review and is a board member of the Institute of Export and International Trade in the UK.

Scott’s areas of expertise are export controls, sanctions, international trade and investment policy, and emerging technologies. Prior to his current roles, he served as the Director at the University of Georgia's Center for International Trade and Security (CITS/UGA) and worked as a Foreign Affairs Analyst at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and as a consultant for the Department of Defense and National Nuclear Security Administration.
